Just installed this, all I can say is "wow", safety on at all times. :!: It has got to be down to under 2 lbs. I have not taken it to the range, but I hope it doesn't go full auto. It is a sleeper, extended mag release, VQ bolt buffer, and Extractor, and now the VQ hammer kit. I bumped it on the ground and it didn't go off (dry-fire), but it is some damn light
There is a very teeny tiny bit of movement detectable, (probably didn't polish the top of hammer strut enough)

lol... I tried my friends 10/22 the other day. I thought his safety was broken, I couldn't get it to fire! Safety was off... hmmm.
Handed it to him, he squeezed off a few rounds, back to me, nothing.
I noticed when he pulled the trigger his finger went white from the pressure.
Gave it back to me, squeezed real hard, boom, worked fine.
I'm horrified at most of the stock 10/22 triggers. lol.

Mine came from the factory with about a 5lb trigger and fair bit of creep. Its not terrible because I'm not shooting 200m groups in competition and this is really just a hunting/plinking fun gun. But..........

I wouldnt mind seeing what I can get out of this factory barrel so....I just ordered a hammer/sear and extractor from Volq. I hope I get the same results as you.

had it to the range today. I sighted it in for 50 yards. After I settled down, I put 4 out of 6 rounds into an area less than a nickel. 8) I shot a dime at that range but could not find it. :p I used a Bushnell 3X9 X32(?) scope. From the bench of course. :p

I hate the feel and the looks of the stock trigger...my 5 year old kid needs at least 2 fingers to pull the dam thing!! And of course it is so hard to pull that it makes it hard to hit small targets at decent ranges....soon as some cash flow comes in I am going to get the TG-2000 from Volquartsen

Best there is out there.

Not a single complaint except for getting used to it because it feels as if you're pulling air

If you going to drop that much money on a TG2000, spend that extra and get a kidd.

Thanx for the website Jsmitty :)

Hope fully I can have the $$$ needed next summer......

I really think that the Kidd looks like a heck of alot better made piece than that VQ. The only thing I dont like is that fact that it doesnt come in SS.......though I guess I could get it gold plated.....like the reciever :D:D

That will look nice to match your receiver. Chrome would be great too.

Just the hammer and spring kit (VQ). I have also polished the internals a little bit.

Easy as pie. Slide out the pins, replace the hammer, replace pins... DONE.

It can be a little tricky to get all the springs in the right place (disconnector and sear, for example), but with a good diagram, it's no worries.

Unless you are a shakey gimp.

Just an update here on the VQ extractor and Bargain Bin Hammer.

I installed them last night with no major problems. Took all of 20 minutes and a fine tipped screwdriver.

I tried it out on the way home tonight. The trigger still has a bit of creep but easily breaks under 3lbs. Probably more like 2.5. I'm very impressed with that improvement for 20 bucks.

As for the extractor.......
I had a ton of half empty boxes of rem, fed 510's, wildcats etc. that my 10/22 would have the odd FTE with when stock extractor was inplace. Well, I dont have any of those half empty boxes anymore :) . I fired all the trouble brands with 0 FTE's. I dont know how much the trigger has helped my grouping because I think I put about 400rds down range in about 20 minutes. More of a functional test than an accuracy test.

$36 bucks canadian, definetly worth the price.

(Holly @ Volquartsen is great to deal with)

anyone???
Again anyone able to tell where they sourced their trigger kits within Canada?
I just got back into shooting after decades away and purchased a Ruger 10/22.
I used to be able to group the size of a quarter at 50 yds. with the Anschutz target rifle I used to have but was horrified with the trigger on my new 10/22. It takes so much force to pull this stupid trigger I'm lucky to be able to hit the darn target.
