10/22 vs remington 597 vs savage 22

Don't want to jack the thread ,who sells the rem's on the east coast , or mebe a dealer who will ship out here. My son will be walking and talking soon enough and I want to start a firearms collection for him starting with a nice little .22 and the new rems seem like a nice items for him to learn the rules on . Any idea on averace prices would be nice . Thanks in advance .

Most dealers and private sellers will ship, Greenman. The CGN community is spread all over the country and shipping is the only way to get things to most of us.

How did that statement affect us ? It didnt. Its just some old bugger that doesnt know sh*t. And Remington "DOESNT" care about our market, get it right or don't post !

Didn't affect us? You're kidding me right?
Holy cow...you're pretty fast to shoot your mouth off for someone who obviously has no clue....maybe a little research is in order before you tell others not to post?

Rugers statement had a signifigant impact during the draft of our own bill C-68, and was even more damaging in the states. And add to that: See any cheap mags for the Mini's since the AWB in the States? 20's and 30's went from 10 bucks to 50, and the factory folders are worth more than a whole rifle now.

Yes, he may have been covering his ass...but at the expense of is customers. The simple fact is that at one time someone from Remington made an off-hand comment that really didn't hurt anyone....but Ruger did more damage to gun ownership rights both in Canada and the US than any manufacturer in history.

His statement and "Ruger Letter" that he wrote to Senate was the basis for the Federal Assult Weapons Ban or AWB. That of which did affect the U.S.
Bill C-68 was a Liberal money grab that had strong anti gun media behind it.
As we all know Alan Rock was the C-68 brainchild.
I have never read information that directly links Rugers statement for our C-68. Maybe you could enlighten us with your armchair degree in gun control on this matter.

I could not have said it any better my self..:D:D

So which .22 is better??? :p
I've got a 597 myself... cheaper than the 10/22 and other than after market hammer and extractor, no more mods.
Very happy with it.
(still waiting for some 30 round mags though :()

597 for sure
i have both but because the ruger shot so poorly i put a krinker package on it so it could at least look cool and with the open sights i have an excuse for missing now:D

597 is alright... but I love how you can dress up 10/22's more. My 597 was hell. Many jams, etc. Sent it to Quebec, 6 weeks later, best rimfire rifle ever. Put a nice muzzle break on it... it's camo, and a nice scope, high capacity mags and a browning bipod and now it looks pretty slick for a rimfire.

Dont forget about the Marlin 795 its only 140 at SIR.
I had one for a while there and it gave amazing groups rested at 50 yrds often hole on hole. Trigger is a bit heavy but is a real tack driver and cheap plus it never jammed on me

I now own a tricked out 1022 which is by far my fav. you stated you werent looking to pimp so i wont suggest it to you. They arent nearly as accurate as the marlin. but very fun rifles still
mine never jams unless i over lube

I have fallen to the power of the dark side
Due to my impatience in waiting for my 30 rd mags, I picked up a used 10/22 with folding stock. Quickly dropped a 3 - 9 scope on it and ordered mags from SIR.
Three days later I found myself fondling a brand spankin' new Browning Buckmark... mmmmmmmmmm :p My wife is going to divorce me if I bring this one home!

Well, I don't think it gets much worse than this ...
I put Canada Post onto my situation last week. I heard from them today.
My "package" was nothing more than a wrapper when it got to Canada
Re-emailed RimfireSports to ask that they go after the USPS. :bangHead:
(Hope my Butler Creek mags for my 10/22 show up soon :()
