hey everyone i have a huge question.
i have a ruger 10/22 and im going to sell it to get another one BUT this time i want to do it right.

I was looking online and i found some better options. what im looking for is a ruger tacticool style rifle, the only reason is for functions. I have monkey arms and huge hands so the little carbine i have is basically a hand gun. haha.
i was looking at the SR-22 but wanted to know if they are worth the money to put a bull barrel on it, and can the stock come off and receive diff types???? like ar??
OR!!
should i buy a ruger already with the bull barrel and get a stock of it? i dont know what to do? all i want it for is plinking, target and hunting rabbit or what not.
thank you for your time :)

I have a tacticool that i built up over several years from a standard carbine.

You say something about function? a tacticool doesnt have a lot of function really.
I guess you could look at things a couple ways.
Buy an SR 22 get an aftermarket barrel and extractor.
Sell the components if you get borred with them which you probably will then buy a bell and carlson stock.

Keep the rifle you have now, get an aftermarket barrel and new stock, and extractor.

Mine is a tapco with 12.5" dlask barrel. Cool but in the end its still a .22
twice as heavy as a cooey, not as accurate, and a bundle of money.

I like mine but i could let it go not now though. If you check the EE now is a bad time to sell since there are a bunch of tacticool set ups for sale there now.

I dont really think tacticool is a good idea unless you do it really cheap or your really sure your getting what you want for your money.

Good luck with it.

There are way more accessories for the 10/22.... Forget the rest!
Magazines are the number one thing.... But do your research well before you do and you'll see.... 10/22 Tried and true!

thanks for the information, as for function i want it for the stock repositioning and being able to switch sights when i want or have a bi pod on or off. the reason i want the sr is its mostly done, and all the other stocks iv seen i dont like or are ridiculously expensive aka TROY!

your not listning, i have a ruger 10/22 i like it BUT i want one thats got a bigger barrel and a better stock, SR-22 IS A RUGER!!!! lol

i may be dumb but im not retarded!

OK let me explain to you
I know they are both Ruger

10/22 model has more accessories...
SR22 not as many options, Is that clearer?
Get another 10/22 MODEL if you have to and modify that.
Barrel and whatever else

I've been there so I do understand
good luck

I'm not sure if you are going to understand what I am saying

The key is that its better if you buy a modified 10/22 or do it yourself

They are not all 10/22 just because they shoot .22
10/22 is a model and the best one to work with

lol alright thank you, they way you were typing it made me confused haha. i was curious though would it be cheaper to buy the 10/22 with the bull barrel already then get that arch angel stock??? and will the barrel fit in it.

Hmm not sure... Different dealers different prices...

Guns are like hot rods.....
You should wait till someone wants to sell because he needs the money and you get a great deal... Like me... SEE :(

first off a SR22 is a 1022 with a nordic chasis on it same everything interchangable either or up or down ;)

what are you wanting to build? a tacticool 22 or a fancy bench 22? tacticool a SR22 is a great starting point to mod up, archangel stocks are plastic, they look cool but you cant change out the buttstock or forend or grip like you can on the SR22 platform

a bench rifle is better to start with a 1022 carbine or go at it from scratch with a dlask reciever and aftermarket parts

or you could get a nordic chasis and go at it from scratch that way, the sky is the limit in 1022s use your imagination and have fun with it

thats pretty nice, whats a nordic chasis worth??? im just curious because i want to go the cheapest rout with the best bang for my buck.

How bout an Ar instead?

nice man, but its restricted in Ontario. not worth my time to get the license and the money when i cant even take it out in the back yard :(

ill rephrase that, i want a tacticool 22 that has a top rail all the way from back end to front of stock, i want an adjustable cheek rest and adjustable stock, bull barrel, pistil grip, small rail on bottom for bipod cause im lazy.
kinda identical to the troy industrys stock. this way i can put the iron sighs on it and a scope at same time, this way less to carry to range and i can take the scope off anytime to practice with the iron sights. :)
so my best bet would be to get the SR-22 if it can interchange with most 10/22 part.?

yes the SR22 would be a great platform for you, get the dlask quad rail system for it, that will give you a full length top rail, barrels are pretty good in the SR22 but you can change out the pistol grip and buttstock for any ar style ones on the market, you can even go shortie get the dlask short forend and rail system and a 12.5" dlask barrel for it, with a standard magpul buttstock you will just be over the 26" length limit for firearms, the guts are all the same 1022 parts like triggers, hammer, bolt etc

my SR22 the top pic with bipod I just got my Panther tactical palm grip in and put it on today :)
