10/22 with 8" Dlask barrel and camo factory stock

I just finished putting my 10/22 together. It's a Dlask 8" barrel and a modified factory stock. This is my first attempt at painting a stock. It was fun and I'm pretty happy with the result. If I were doing it again I think I would start with a black base instead of brown and use four colours instead of three.

Curious....What kind of accuracy are you getting at 50 yards? Might make for a handy little squirrel shooter!

I haven't shot it with this barrel yet so I'll have to get back to you on accuracy. As for all the powder getting burned up, I figure there are lots of pistols with shorter barrels (ie. Ruger MKIII Hunter, etc) doing okay for themselves.

A new 10/22 is $250 and an 8" dlask barrel is $160. The Krylon paint is on sale for $5.03/can at Canadian Tire right now and I spent about $10 on different sizes of dowel and sandpaper to make room for the .92" barrel. That makes $435 plus tax.

I'm sure it will shoot great, just thought it would shoot a tad slower. Do you have access to a chronograph?

Looks like the .22lr is not as bad in regards to a shorter barrel. I will chrono my dads 6.5" Taurus 990 when I get the time, but found this online, again not my results.
