10/22 worked to look like m14?

I saw a member who did extensive work on his/her wooden stock, added a nice foregrip and countless other bits.... anyone have a link to the thread/know the member?

that's m1 CARBINE, NOT m1 - most people, when you say m1, think GARAND, not "junk gun"
 
Did you just refer to the carbine as a 'junk gun' !?!

i sure did- that's what we used to call them - barn door accuracy, misfeeds, parts don't fit, you name it- and a "wierd" cartridge to boot- to me, that's a junk gun- you may enhance the accuacy by welding a lug to the heel of the receiver, but that's about it- and a 30 cal carbine is way underpowered for it's size- now if one was to beef it up to 35 cal/9mm and give it a half-way decent barrel( thicker) it could be a FUN gun
 
Shooting Times magazine just completed a 3 part article on turning a 10/22 into .22 Rimfire Garand. Part 3 is in the June 2011 issue. Looks pretty cool.
