10/22T Bedding

I used the shoe polish, however I think I took too much off, I should of put some off, lightly buffed it off and then put another coat on and left it.

Live and learn.

shoe polish works great, just don't buff it off? just use a q-tip and cover everything that needs the release agent on it. i have only ever used one coat but you could always wait a couple hours till the polish dries then put another coat on.

Ah yeah, I made the mistake of rushing it. It was later at night and wanted to get 'er done and well nothing is ruined beyond repair.

Now imagine I stayed with the 5 minute epoxy, I would be up sh*t creek using my ruger as a paddle.

I think I will try bedding the receiver again, this time I will take it slow and do it properly.

I have very carefully inletted , glass bedded and free floated two 10/22T"s , wedged the barrels properly and glass bed supported two inches of the barrel . Good shooters . On two others i ordered the Volquartsen bedding kit , installed them in 10 minutes and the guns shot every bit as good as the ones i spent days on . The same thing Volquartsen installs on their big buck 10/22's .
