10.5 cycle problem

Well, I put a D-Fender in.
It ejects the casings fine,
but now it will not pick up
the next round.
Fires a round,ejects it and then "CLICK".
Manually cycle the next round in,
BANG! then CLICK?

so the bolt carrier did not travel backwards far enough to clear the magazine and pick up a new round? that sounds like a gas leak - check the tightness of the gas key - are the screws fastening the gas key to the bolt carrier staked properly?

Two issues -

1) It is cycling too fast to pick up a round -- this can be solved by a H2 or H3 buffer and Wolff extra power spring

Or as GT says it is not traveling far enough rearward likely a gas issue or some binding due to a poor QC job and metal on metal

Does this upper say Sterling on it, or is that just what the seller told you? Never heard of a Sterling upper before. And the licensing agreement with Armalite way back when had nothing to do with the AR15 and predates flat tops by eons.

"sterling" means nothing on an AR -- more likely the guys name who had it last.. or a cheesy selling point...
