Anyone else experiencing feeding issues with their 10.5 Norc uppers?

So, took my new 10.5 Norc Upper (on an Armalite lower) to the range this weekend.

Issue:

It would only fire 1 x round (MFS 55gr FMJ), then STOPPAGE.

Partial bolt fwd or a bolt fully fwd. Even had a couple partial feeds, but always after one round fired.

I am thinking it is a Buffer and spring issue. The issue being the buffer is from an 14.5 AR, and not heavy enough to support the reduced gas exchange on the 10.5.

Have also been told that the gas port might be too small for a 10.5 barrel.

SFRC,

Any insight?

I have the same problem and it is not an ammo or mag issue. The 10.5" thus far performs terrible. Great price but the gun needs work. There's a post about this so far and the ideas for fixes are bouncing around. I'm awaiting some solutions from SFRC. Small fixes are not a big deal b/c of the great price but it should be known what exactly the solution is to this batch.

I'll see what I can find out. I've sold dozens of the uppers and dozens of the complete guns with no issue...I've also blasted off a few 100 rounds in a 10.5" with no issues. Can both of you drop me a PM?

Just got off the phone with the importer. It seems a couple guns have had extractor & ejector springs that are to heavy and that is causing the issues...nothing to do with the gas system. Anyone that experiences this problem let me know. They are currently sourcing some replacement springs that aren't as heavy.

I have the same fail to extract issue. After I got the upper, I cleaned, took apart and lubed everything except the extractor on the bolt. For the first 100 rounds, I had at least 20 rounds failed to extract.

I thought the gun needs to break in. So I took it home, completely took it apart, cleaned and lubed it, this time even included the extractor on the bolt. Felt the bolt can move back and forth with less resistance.

The I took it to the range for the second round of shooting. This time, it performed better, there were only 4 to 5 rounds failed to extract.

So I think this extractor/ejector spring theory makes sense. I'd also like to have the replacement springs when they are available.

I had the same problem with my 10.5. If i look at the front of the bolt assembly, the extractor and bolt are not flush. Probably about a +/- 1.0mm (not sure if that was the problem)I replaced the extrator and spring with a bushmaster, and a LMT H2 carbine buffer, Works now ....

have the guys having the issue received the replacement parts yet?

sent a pm monday, but wasn't answered yet
