10,500 Canadian Brownings headed to Ukraine

Those old Inglis/Browning 9mms you guys wouldn't want, 99% were shot out and junk.

I shot one in the mid 00's that had a 1940s manufacture date on it.
Ummm, they were all made during WWII, although I don’t believe date of manufacture is anywhere on the pistol.

I have a friend, former re-enactor as myself, he is with 3d brigade (Azov) now. He had as his sidearms: TT-33, then switched to BHP Belgium made under Nazi occupation, then switched to P-08. I will tell him Inglis HPs are coming... He does this just for sake of love for historical firearms.
To think, we just take our collection to the range.

Well at least they won't be melted down and maybe in a better world they will make their way back to canadian collectors.
unfortunately a big percentage of them will probably end up on the black market by way of Albania.

This all just more virtue signalling and deception ..... sending Ukraine our outdated, worn out junk. The general public doesn't even know what a browning high power is , let alone that they are decades old, used and abused firearms.
Personally I think this will do nothing but embarrass our nation

Of course, there was so much "all weapon we send to Ukraine will end up on black market" from tankies, yet zero evidence this ever happened. Couple of attempts to spin this with "proofs" from well-known French grifter were so evident fakes that even tankies abandoned this narrative.

Can't believe I am saying this but I'm 100% agree.

ironically the best chance of obtaining one of these is sending them all off to ukraine where they can subsequently hit the surplus market after the end of the war and be imported back into canada by a reputable dealer to sell to us

I left the military in 1966 & these pistols were worn out then. I hate to think of their condition now.
10 years ago, a guy I worked with was a weekend soldier. He said he was issued a new, unfired one when his was acting up. That was 2015.
Only people in high places know what's stashed away in government storage.

Remember the OPP C1A1 rifles that were sold to the UK and re imported back into Canada.
The Government might not allow this to happen again ,if pistols become legal again

A friend of mine who dealt with the Inglis’s said they were basically scrap in most cases
Maybe a few boxes of good ones

They will not even hit a warehouse in UKrain. It has already been resold to add to the UKrain kings billions. Have you searched his history? He played a part and now is King of UKrain.
Who knows where the handguns will end up. We might even be able to buy them back from somewhere in a few years if the Cons win.
Hope the military guns guys are watching the soap opera of the guns sent to the UKrain.

"tHeY wILL nOt eVEn hIT a waReHoUse"

Meanwhile picture from my friend, took on Canadian export marked crate. And I still think it was a stupid decision to send them to Ukraine, Canada could do much better by selling these to collectors and financing modern handguns for Ukraine. But not with this corrupted, virtue signalling LIEberal government.
