10 ga bore rifle loads

Looking for info for loading 10 ga brass shells with round ball or conical bullets, with black powder or black powder equivlent.

Fill the case with 1F and seat your ball or bullet.
Some black powder lube over or under the projectile would help.
That is if your shotgun is in good shape.
For lighter loads reduce the powder and use wads, cornmeal or crumpled up newspaper to take up the space. Don't get any simpler then that.

Have you any idea at all how much powder that would be
this works for a cartridge like a 45-70, but a 10 ga. case loaded to the tits with black is a bit much.

Thats what I would do if expecting to run into a cape buffalo or rhino.

In the situation of being faced with something less dangerous like paper or a watermelon I would look for some 9ga felt or fiber wads dipped in BP bullet lube to try and take up some powder volume. A card to seperate the powder from the lube might be a good idea too.
