I'm looking for suggestions on 10 gauge 3 1/2" waterfowling loads. With the 12's I'm quite happy beginning and ending with Kent Fasteel, but I don't have that easy option with the ten. Are the Remington loads at 1500ish fps any good? How about the Federal?
I'm obviously new to the gauge, and am looking for a little direction.

I will likely reload for it, but this year I just don't have time to get everything together. Besides I'll need cases. I may just sell my house and buy the Heavi-Shot loads for geese, and try whatever is in stock for ducks while collecting empties.
My shotgun loading experience began with trap loads, and ended when I decided that it wasn't worth it. I understand that there are real performance gains to be made loading 10?

Its night an day between factory and homeloads with the 10.Hevi shot is way overpriced but we do alot of pass shooting on geese down here. There are some great steel loads out there as well that wont break the bank.I just got into reloadin but i got to say i really like it hopefully that hevi performs like it says lol,i'll probally go back to steel for next year..

Bubba682,
Hevi-shot is probably in the running for the ultimate load, even better than lead. Now, better than lead in a 10 gauge is certainly interesting for geese and I will pursue that, but I will also want a more utility steel load for ducks and to just get a feel for this O/U.Since we have 28 goose per day limits and only 8 ducks that may not be of over whelming importance.
A friend has even volunteered a 10 gauge loader for my use, not that that magically creats time I don't have. He's one of those guys that has 3 of everything that he doesn't have 6 of.Do you know of any online sources / groups dedicated to the big 10?

Winchester Supreme are my favourite factory load for the SP10 closely followed by remington Sportmans. They have good patterns, Almost too tight through my WadWizzard supreme. :)

I'v not been as impressed with the federal loads I'v tried.

So far I've tried the 1 1/2 and 1 3/8 Federals in #2 and BB in our newly opened season. In my barrels the 1 1/2 proved to be crap, while the faster 1 3/8 load crushed 'em. 8 for 9.:D Obviously more field research is needed.I've got the Winchester Supreme and Rem Sportsman to try next.

Does anyone know if the $150 per case refund for Wingmaster High-density can be got in Canada? These "USA only" offers are enough to get a preacher cursing.

The reason I bought the Rem SP-10 was that I wanted to use steel shot(most economical) for ducks and geese. For it's obvious denser pattern potential inside 40 yds.

Turned out for me anyways, steel shot sucks in any gauge. And didn't really make much difference between 10 or 12. Remingtons hevi shot was a large awakening to longer range ducks but you're leads increase exponentially and so do expensive misses:D.

So I've settled on 12 ga, for close range ducks over decoys only, with the occasional pass shot.

For that kind of shooting, steel works just fine in #2 or 3. Trying the Kents this fall in the 12 ga.
