looking for info on a 10 gauge double barrel sh parker & sons
serial 6863 looking for age and appox value

Well, in my 18th Edition of the 2008 standard catalog of firearms, there's a section in the Parker Bros. (Not Parker & Sons) with model prices for the VH, PH, GH, DH, CH, BH, AH, AAH and the A-1 Special. None for the SH but all of these are highly collectable and range from $700 in poor to $65,000 in Exc. condition. It varies from model and Gauge. I'm sorry I couldn't find the exact write up for you Shotgun, but I'm no expert, I just figured I'd let you know what I found in my book. Good luck in your quest. Would love to see a picture, the Parker Bros. double barrel shotguns look beautiful.

Paul, your shotgun was made in 1876. It is a Grade 0, the lowest, with twist steel barrels. Are you sure it is a 10 gauge? It should be a 12 gauge with 30" barrels and straight stock (no pistol grip). It is an underlever style.
