Does any one know if you can still buy 10 gauge that is shorter than
3.5 inches for older 10 gauge guns? And what exactly is the measurement
on the older shells? comparing a couple shells that my Grandfather had left
to my 2 3/4 12 gauge i would say maybe 2 7/8?????
If any one knows if it is still available, who makes it and where can I get some? :)

The old length is 2 7/8". Unfortunatly, no factory ammo is being made for the old 10 bores. You will have to load your own if you want to shot an older gun but it will give you a better appreciation of the gun and its history if you do.

Old 2 7/8 inch 10 gauge shells are being made in the U.S.A. Check out republicmetallic.com. They even have Bismuth loads for waterfowl. I believe that there are a couple of other vintage loaders in the States. Now if only there was a way to get them here...
