Do not know if they still make a single shot.I bought one at Crappy Tire 25 yrs ago for 110.00$ it was a H&R.I use it for Bears that are getting at my BB I use 00 buck,I also have some oz 1 1/4 slugs. I bought a 5 pack of 00 buck shot for 50.00 with shipping from of our site sponsors bird shot is easier to get.Good Luck.

I've never known any American vintage 10g single shots to be anything but tanks.

Not sure what you mean by that. I have several Cooeys, Iver Johnsons and a couple of old H&R's and none of them are heavy. I would bet a 10 gauge single shot will kick the living bajeesus out of you.

I picked up a second hand HR 10ga a few years back for $90:00. Using steel shot, I never notice much of an increase in recoil. Lead is another story.

I bought a Stevens single off CGN. It came with a 12g barrel and I paid $250. I thought that was a fair price for a gun described as "like new". Too bad it showed up with rust freckles all over and some sort of gooey bull#### all inside the receiver. I cut it down to 20" and use it for blasting things to pieces. Even after filling the stock with shot it still kicks like hell.

I have one (H&R). Weighs 9.5 lbs. Very reasonable to shoot.
I'd expect to pay in the 225-300 range, depending on time of year and condition. Those are the prices I've seen on here.
