10 Million Mossberg 500s Milestone

I wonder if they included the 88, 535, 835, 590, and 590a1 models in their count to 10 million. Probably is what I'm guessing.

Put a low enough price tag on anything and it will sell like hot cakes but it doesn't mean it's any good...just like Dodge and Chevy did with their Neon and Cavalier models!!! Hahaha!
Not poking a hornet's nest at all here..

I view Mossberg shotguns in the same way that I view Savage rifles, low cost, but they usually function well. The Silver Reserve however has displayed a high number of failures. I will still take a Wingmaster over any Mossberg.

Ive had my 500 since the day I got my PAL and Ive never had an issue with it. It was affordable and functions flawlessly.

The first gun I bought was a Lakefield Mossberg 500AB and I thought it was the biggest waste of money ever. The forearm cracked, shells were being stuck in the chamber, it had feeding issues. Junk I thought. I was almost at the point of selling it for parts when MadTrapper143 fixed it up for me in a couple evenings and haven't had any issues since. Replaced the factory furniture with synthetic stuff, cut the barrel down to 20" and it's my "camp gun" now.

I've handled a couple more (and can vouch for the smoothness of MadTrapper143's 16 bore) and never had any issues with them.

I do understand that some find the forearm rattle annoying though...

Just a fyi the silvers with the new firing pins are doing OK if that is what you were referring to. You have to check the serial numbers prior to buying one to see what set is fitting. If not changed they will supply the redesigned ones no charge and they are not hard to put in. Every gauge has a different number range to watch for.So far so good with a 28ga
