What is the quality like on new Marlins? Completely lost interest when they pooped the bed a few years back.

I can only speak for our 1894c. My wife has a .357/.38 built in 2018...wonderful gun! Cycles cast 130gr rnfp perfectly be they .38spl or .357 oal. That is at "medium" cowboy action speeds.

The 1894c, I was looking for a pistolero caliber carbine.

I was hoping not to spend an arm and leg for my first lever gun, but I also wanted a shootable caliber.

The .357/.38 lever seems to fit that bill, unless you have any other .357 levers other than the 1894c that aren't above ~1000 ?

The 1894c is the only .357 we have in stock under $1000. Very well built and nice looking rifling!
