They aren't 10/20's. They are 10 rounders with a longer body/base which gives a length similar to a 20.

+1 if there is any possibility of getting factory ruger 5/20 magazines for the mini-14 riveted properly so they would seat on a closed bolt. I would make an honest commitment to 1k$ worth.

I've had the same issue with a couple of LAR mags, but just mark them as 9s and only load them as such. I also removed the Ranger Plates and put on Magpuls instead as I felt that this was a contributing factor to the failure.

Ranger plates tend to convert the LAR-15 mags to 9 round mags.
