Sorry if this has already been discussed but I have been out of the loop the last couple of months. Back in May the liberals announced a 5 round limit on rifle magazines. Have 10 round magazines been banned for rimfire rifles?

bolt action, rimfire. you can have as many rounds as you want.
it's my understanding though and I live with that unless I hear otherwise.

I believe they were talking about ALL long-gun detachable magazines but so far that hasnt been implemented. They want mags to be permanently altered to only hold 5, so no more pins, gotta cut them mags down. In all honesty I have no idea how they are going to do it. There are many PCC’s that feed off of pistol mags. If I cut Glock mags to fit only 5 than it wont fit into my Sub 2000 nor into a Glock.

the initial announcement was 5 rds REGARDLESS of caliber or action

Mendicino is on record reluctantly admitting it won't apply to certain long guns such as the Lee Enfield.

He's on the record as a chronic liar as well, I'd like to see some solid science behind their ill-proposed safety measure.

Why would a lee get a pass if they are going to be blocking tube magazines and who knows what else?

As of this exact moment nothing has changed

There are lots of proposals and lots of rebuttals but nothing is law "yet"

There are NO "New Laws" OR OICs detailing mag limits. This is all 'Wishful thinking' by the antis, may not come about if Libs lose their position to CPCs - But the "Dip Coalition" would still exist unless the inconsistencies start to pile up and they Bail on the T-boy.

Nothing in law, yet. But it's 100% where the Liberals want to go.

That said, in the past year I bought a number of 10rd AICS, 25rd 10/22 and extended Glock mags just to get a head of this.

What 25-round mag is current available for the 10/22? I haven't seen one since my Butler Creek 25-round banana mags were supposedly verboten back in 2010 or thereabouts due to the compatibility with the Charger pistol (even though the BC mags came well before the Charger was even invented).

Pinned Ruger mags are the best choice at the moment.

The mag restriction is included in Bill C-21 which also bans the sale and transfers of handguns. I believe it was also part of Bill C-71 but I'm not sure. TC

PS- The Savage Rotary mags work fine and I have 2x the 25-rotary Savs that work fine in both my B22 and A22. They have a loading button that drops the follower so you can just drop in the cartridges. And I reduced the tension of the 7x 10-round mags I have by disassembly and 'unwinding' the spring 1/2 turn. They still feed reliably - even the A22 rapid-fire - and are Waaayy easier to load. And I broke the 'pointed-lip' of the loading lip of the mags.
So far, NO pistol that uses the Sav 25x . . .

In the near future, I'm sure all guns will have to be permanently converted to single shot configuration only.

Won't have to worry 'bout no clips anymore. Surrender them all, smile, and be happy!

Dlask (10/22 clone) takes a 25 round mag of their own design for their receiver style . I think another company has also tinkered with their receiver to use Dlask mags

There are adapters available to allow Remington 597 magazines to be used in the Ruger 10-22
