10 round mags for 305s??!!!

So if the RCMP stop me and i have in my posession a LEGAL M305 and a LEGAL AIA mag, what law exactly are they going to accuse me of breaking?

I had a conversation with a Lawyer at my gun club and he said that as long as the mag is marked AIA and not M14 there would be no problem.

Note: the above is hearsay and should not be considered legal advice. Please don't sue me if you get your ass thrown in jail :)

An AIA magazine is obviously not an M-14 magazine because it does not have the hole for the front magazine detent/catch. It doen't need to be marked because it was originally designed and manufactured for the AIA rifle. This is s significant physical and mechanical difference.
The AIAs originally used adapted M-14 magazines, which were not importable in 10 round configuration. Thus the AIA bolt action rifle magazine was developed.
As written, the law is very specific. A magazine in and of itself may be a prohibited device. The magazine's legal status does not depend on whether or not it is accompanied by a firearm. A firearm's legal status does not depend on the presence of a magazine.

tiriaq- I understand what you're saying, but if the mag were stamped, it would be easier to prove your innocence rather than explain that it is different in the front. Our laws are such BS.
