10 round mags for ristricted rifles

Not necessary. We have the ruling in writing. Go buy your 10 round LAR-15 magazines and enjoy! :D

If you read the whole Post you can see that it is already done :)

BUT, to say "dont bother doing your own homework because a website that is trying to sell you something tells you it is OK" does not fly with me.

I understand it is in writing..... But I cant certify the origin of that.

So, AGAIN, better safe then sorry.

These are in at least one place in Calgary and have been for awhile. With all the media attention and Police that have been there lately I seriously doubt they would have anything illegal on their shelves.

So what you are saying is that a reputable dealer like Questar would fake a letter from the RCMP and risk his business in order to sell you a $39 magazine.. Guess he smuggles the magazines in too...

Yeah... OK... I can see the economics in that..

I don't know if I can believe that letter or not. It might be forged. I still need to be proven to that they are legal. Anyone out there that can prove it to me.:D

Until I believe you guys I am going to start a thread every two weeks asking this.:nest:

LOL.. The old phrase about leading a horse to water really does apply doesn't it...

I have a couple of questions on the ten round mag issue.

If the hand gun in question is not a semi automatic, does that hand gun still qualify for a legal ten round capacity, or does this ten round mag capacity apply only to semi automatic hand guns ?

How is "commonly available " determined ? I assume the hand gun does not have to be common, just commonly available, as in offered for sale in Canada ?

All handguns are limited to ten rounds, even rim fire which in rifles is unlimited.

It is determined by how good of a mood the RCMP tech is that day.

Actually all magazines designed and manufactured for use in a handgun are limited to 10 rounds... if you have a rimfire rifle magazine that fits a handgun then that magazine would have an unlimited capacity... regardless of the firearm it is actually used in. :)
