Anyone have any real world experience using these on deer size game. .243 velocities.
I'm just looking for real world experience not for other options or if it is not suitable to shoot a deer with a .243
Pardon my frankness. I don't want to start a pissing match.

I can't comment on the 100 grain Interlocks in a .243, but I have used that same weight in a .257 Roberts. For all intents and purposes, they should be awfully similar, both having a MV of between 3000 - 3100 fps.

Personally, I found the 100 grain pills in the .257 a bit on the light side. I did collect the deer I shot, so clearly the bullets worked. But I ended up swithing to 117 grain BTSP Interlocks, and now always get an exit wound, even when a quartering shot involves a shoulder or leg bone. With the 100 grain Interlocks, that wasn't always the case.

With the above experience in mind, when I did hunt for awhile with a .243, I elected to stick with 100 grain Partitions. I'm sure an Interlock would have worked with the shots I ended up taking with that rifle, but I generally err on the side of having more penetration available, just in case that really big buck ends up presenting a somewhat marginal shot angle.

Yup, Ive used them and friends have as well in the 100 grain 243.
They work ok but there were bullets where copper and lead completely separated.
They seemed to break up after they did the deed, cause they ( two pieces) were never too far apart and under the skin on the far side. Still a usable bullet in my opinion.:)

i had similar results with 100gr in a 25-06. the velocity would be a bit higher than the .243 - but had them separate from the jacket on a couple of occasions and at different distances on White tails. I had two dead deer, but switched bullets to nosler solid base. Then to ballistic tips and now to accubonds....
 
I have seen many whitetails and some huge ones dropped with a 100g pill from a .243. They work great as long as you hit where it's needed. I spent many years hunting with a family that only used .243's and never had to track down and finish one of thier animals. Sometimes we had to track and finish a wounded animal that another guest had wounded, and most often they were using a .30-06 or 7mm, and just made a poor shot.
 
In a .25-06 they were quite explosive but dropped antelope and deer at extended ranges usually bang flops..........Harold
