100 grain Cor Lokt 250 Savage in 1:14 twist barrel

Hello friends,

I recently acquired a Savage 99 in 250-3000 with a 1:14 twist rate (which I confirmed). I don't shoot much anymore but would like to grab a few boxes of ammunition to leave with this rifle and essentially gift to my nephew who is showing interest in hunting.

I know that the 1:14 twist rate rifles were designed for the 87 grain pill and some people have reported key holing with the 100 grain bullets; however, I have heard that the Cor Lokt being a flat base older design will stabilize. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I don't really want to reload for this rifle so I'm hoping some one other has some input.

Bullet length is the issue when getting a bullet to stabilize. Both Remington and Winchester's 100 grain offering are made with a bullet length suitable for 1 in 14" twist.
