100 Yard .22LR Challenge

Below are the rules from the challenge that began on this forum one year ago today.

THIS IS A CHALLENGE FOR YOURSELF. THERE IS NOTHING PERSONAL. IT IS NOT A COMPETITION. IT IS UP TO YOU AND ONLY YOU TO DO YOUR BEST AND LEARN FROM IT.

The target is the 100 Yard Unlimited Match and must be printed on 65 lb. Card Stock

For anyone who can't get the target printed, I will be happy to mail to a limited number of shooters copies of the required target on 65 lb cardstock. Please PM me with a request and mailing address.

The challenge is to shoot three ten-shot groups with a 22lr at 100 yards or meters.

Here are the requirements for the challenge:

You must use a 22 long rifle.

There is no restriction on action type or cost of the firearm or scope.

You may use any 22 long rifle ammunition you wish.

You must shoot three 10-shot groups at 100 yards/meters.

All three groups shall be inside the respective seven rings and unobstructed so that the group can be identified.

All three groups must be on the same paper. The sighter target does not have to be used.

You must show the full sheet of paper. Keep all shots inside the 7 ring to aid in determining the group.

There cannot be anything on your target that could be hiding any group or bullet hole that is not part of your "official" attempt

All the attempts at the challenge must have been shot after the challenge was issued.

Please include distance in Yards or Metres plus the following:

1) A picture of your rifle, scope, ammunition and rests you used with pertinent information.

2) A picture of your full page target with all three groups visible and the overall group size minus your subtraction factor equals the center-center score for each target and the group average written on the target

3) A picture of your largest group with a set of calipers to verify the group size. (Include the grey bullet smudge on the outside measurements.)

Edit August 9, 2022: For simplicity and uniformity of information, please post a picture of the target with group sizes and overall average. Your post must also have THE GROUP SIZES AND AVERAGE WRITTEN IN THE POST

The subtraction factor is 0.22”. Group size minus SF equals center to center group.
1.465 - 0.22 = 1.245

Please put all your info into ONE POST. If you forgot anything please EDIT your post to include the missing info.

Vanguard rest and Champion rear bag.

Not my best, but given that I broke the extractor, with the lower chairs at the range. I had to get up every shot to pick out the round, and load the next. I say it was decent, Def an improvement than last year. I never broke 2"

@mineguy, just a reminder that Sharon range 3 is not 100m not even 100 yards, it's about 96 yards or 88 meters.
you better head to range 5 which is a rimfire range and exactly 100 meter.

I went out to my local range today to do the 100y challenge. The weather was challenging, winds from 10 to 15 mph switching between 4 o'clock and 6 o'clock. The temperature was a nice 24 C with mostly clouds overhead. The rifle is a Greybirch Fusion in a Magpul X22 stock. The trigger is a Ruger BX. I shot Eley Club today for groups. The scope is an Athlon Talos, 3-12X40. I shot off a Harris BR bipod and rabbit ears rear bag. The range was 100yards. Here are my results:

Group 1: 1.438"
Group 2: 1.747"
Group 3: 1.823"

3-group average: 1.669"

Recognizing that this is not the most sophisticated setup, I'm quite happy with the results. Also, I'm sure there will many of you that will beat these results, bring it on!!

Went to the 100 yard range this afternoon, and when 50 yard groups would not materialize, 100 looked like an option.
Occasional gusts right to left.
Rifle is an Anschutz 1710 with a Sightron SIII 36X shot off a Harris Bipod. Ammo is Remington Eley Match 1067 fps.
The un-calculated measurements are with a BallisticX program and the average was 1.325.

Spent the evening testing ammo with my chrono and at the end of the evening launched a few at the 100 yard challenge.

Rifle: CZ 455 , IBI 20 inch barrel, MDT Chassis, Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-16.

Great weather conditions this morning to give the 100 yd challenge a try .... 20 degrees with a very light & variable breeze
Vudoo V22 with Bartlein barrel (and EC tuner) and KRG Bravo chassis off a harris bipod
Sightron III 10-50x60
SK Long Range Match
Assuming I did the calculations correctly .... average group size of the 3 is .907".
Seem to have better results with the SK Long Range than Center X at both 50 & 100 yds .... and a continuing effort with the tuner.

Nice weather today but very hot and humid, and lots of mosquitos.
I didn't do well enough. The first group was the worst, and the last was the best but still 1.13. I will try another type of ammo next time and update, but won't have time to do it again until a month later.

It's Vudoo three-60 barrelled action, 18", on KRG Bravo Chassis. Harris bipod and a mono-pod (but I used a sandbag as rear resting). Nightforce NX8 4-32x50mm scope.

Rifle: Vudoo in MDT ESS chassis
Scope: Delta Styker 5-50x56mm SFP
Bipod: Sinclair F-Class
Ammo: Midas+
Temp: 32*C
Humidity: ~60%
Wind: 5-10 km/hr from 7-9 o'clock
Range: KTSA long range @ 101m

Groups CTC: 1.804", 1.783", 1.455"
3-group mean: 1.681"

The rifle is not the limiting factor here. It's all on me. My next attempt will be with flags
