100 Yard .22LR Challenge

Found a picture of the rifle after shooting groups today is a bit of Wind and Mirage so now I have to get my A$$ in gear.
The rifle is a Cooper Montana Varminter. Ammunition: Eley Match Biathlon with a velocity of 1085 fps. Distance: 100 Yards.
Groups were measured at the range with Ballistic-X.







The Ballistic-X average was 1.165

1.102 + 1.034 + 1.364 = 1.093.

Go figure why the discrepancy. Measuring the bullet holes, the factor would be closer to 0.20 which woul see the average go the other way.

Our range is 5* slope up. (long legs)

1.25 -.21 = 1.04
1.1 - .21 = 0.89
2.2 - .21 = 1.99
= 3.92 div. 3 = 1.30 avg.

Otherwise, please read the instructions and many reminders about not posting unnecessarily.

In the interest of uniformity of information, for those making an entry, please include in the target photo all group sizes and the average. Your post must also have the group sizes and average written in the post.

Scope: Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50
Ammo: SK Standard plus
Sinclair F Class bipod
Protektor rear bag

First Group 1.212 outside - 0.22 =0.992
Second Group 1.382 outside - 0.22=1.162
Third Group 1.376 outside - 0.22 = 1.156

Average = 1.103"

I'm making some errors in my shoulder pressure and causing vertical dispersion. It's like I have two groups, one on top of the other. I know I can tighten up the vertical and improve on this.

A reminder to all shooters making entries.

In addition to avoiding unnecessary clutter on this thread, please note and follow the requirements from the rules in the first post, which are the same requirements as last year's 100 yard .22LR challenge. Complete information is required.

1) A picture of your rifle, scope, ammunition and rests you used with pertinent information.

2) A picture of your full page target with all three groups visible and the overall group size minus your subtraction factor equals the center-center score for each target and the group average written on the target Post the entire unobscured target.

3) A picture of your largest group with a set of calipers to verify the group size. (Include the grey bullet smudge on the outside measurements.)

To put the target requirements another way, show the complete target with group sizes (preferably in inches). Please include the overall outside group size and the subtraction factor. Show a caliper measurement of the largest group's outside measurements including the grey bullet smudge. Include in writing in the post itself the group sizes and average.

This will help provide uniformity of information, making everything easy and straightforward to follow.

And the fun part of this challenge is the frustration. Upper right group after sighting in was 0.77". Got all excited that conditions were perfect, then shot the bottom target (1.73") and my ego was deflated. Did not use this group but carried on. LOL Love this challenge.

Since my last post I messed up and showed the close up of my smallest group well I had to go back out there and do it right.

Beat my previous best so that worked out. But not with the Canadian match.

Didn't make em in the 7 rings, hope it still counts! Decided to try it 5 minutes before I left work and used the printer. The real challenge was getting my neck to work, had to shoot prone at a target 3' above ground.

150$ BRNO #3, with 3d printed magwell and modified, unfinished stock.
120$ Chinese 6-24x40 scope, used 20x (i have this for sale btw)
3$ 3D printed front tripod
6$ bulk pack CCI SV 40gr
Free camo coat as shooting pad
100y @ NS Sibley Rd Range, 22* overcast, slight 6 oclock breeze
Calipers already set to Incremental mode at 0.220

This was really fun, thank you. Never shot 22 at 100 this much before. Really happy with my elevation on the final group. I had almost 8" of drop to dial out from my 50y zero. I'll try again after I finish this stock or my Scorpio EM332 13" comes in.

Groups: 3.47",1.88",1.99"
Average: 2.44"

Apparently my attempt is "embarrassing" to someone here and has taken it upon themselves to DM me some negativity at 1:30am. Give your head a shake.

Cheek pad on the Right , I glass with
my Left eye , trigger & bolt with my Right hand .

I've always measured groups outside /outside in
Millimetres , subtracting that .22 inch. makes
quite a difference .

I can't believe it's already August and I only just got out to the range for the first time today. Some major work has been done at my range this year, most of the essential stuff has been completed to get it back to being functional. I've got a couple entries that will serve as a starting point for me.

Remington 597, Lilja barrel
Lapua Midas +
Sightron SII 6-24x
Groups: 1.469", 1.202", 1.766"
Avg = 1.479"

I forgot to take pics so older ones will suffice. I couldn't get the scope even close to zeroed so had a very awkward hold-off and I'm sure contributed to a little bit of the spread, will have to sort out the mounts before I try again with this rifle.

Groups: 1.068", 0.796", 1.042"
Avg = 0.968"







I did a little better than this on some targets last year, so there's room for improvement.
