That was done by Mr. George Digweed, who is not your normal every day, fire a 100 rounds of clays every weekend style of shooter.
And you are right, busting a clay and bringing down a goose are two different things.
I know people who have been caught in the line of fire with steel and although it was at a distance, it didn't penetrate their coats.
I'm not saying that ir can't be done every now and then with big stuff like Hevi Shot, but consistently?
My money would be on the geese.

I believe you. My grandmother used a muzzle-loading 12-gauge. She would always put in 1/4 cup of salt in after the wad and before the shot. I asked her why. She said "To keep the meat from spoiling before I get there." That's how long her shots were.
I know you! Your sister's name is Ellie May, right?

All joking aside did you ever get hit with a shotgun salt load. I was about 8 or 9 I guess up in an old apple tree when an old guy gave it to me in the side of the leg. Holy F'k did it hurt and he was maybe 50/60 feet away . Never took another apple that is for sure. Never cut me or anything if I remember right
Can you just imagine if someone did that today they would be in jail
Cheers
I was never shot, but an old guy where I lived used rock salt on kids that stole crabapples from his yard.
Who cares... just shoot and cross your fingers.. what the hell it's only unethical
It never seams to amaze me just how many people shoot on our 100 yard range and assume that it is more like 2 or 300 yards........shooting is easy but judging distance is where a few guys should practice their skills
This is especially funny because the last time I was out in the bush shooting at a well known spot, there was a group of guys maybe 10 yards beside us who had targets setup maybe 30-40 yards out and I hear one of them say to the other after shooting a group in a very exited voice, almost yelling, that its the best 100 yard group he has ever shot!
My buddy had a Bushnell rangefinder and hit their target with it and it was 44 yards from us and they were closer to it than we were. some people need to buy a rangefinder, seriously.
