They are for a rimfire, which is the section you’re in.The elements are not that big of a factor at 100 yards. The way I zero at 100 is different for my hunting vs target rifles, but generally I get it on paper at 50, (not zeroed at 50, just hitting the paper), then immediately move to 100.
I zero at 50 .. then if your range has an earth berm at 100 yds, dial back the scope magnification a bit and shoot into the berm. You'll see your hits and with a few shots you'll be good. I also take a photo of the elevation turret at 50 & 100 so next time it's a quick dial up or down. My 2 cents. How or what is the recommended way to zero at 100 yards considering the effect of the elements being a major factor compared to a 50 yard
Do you zero at 50 75 then 100 or what?
We're in the Rimfire Fourm !6.5x55, 3006, .303br 2” high at 100 and go hunting. That’s my method as I am close enough to zero at 200 at that point. I am not skilled enough to make a shot past that currently.
So dumb question but I'm doubting my method (New shooter)To try and start at a 100 could be frustrating. I found for myself. I bore sighted at 50, and then went to the range and got on paper as close to dead on at that range.
From the bullet manufacturer , some have charts. Figured out the suggested drop adding 50 yards.
I put up 2 targets stacked one above the other at 100 and dialed my moa/mils from the ammo drop chart. That got me on paper and further dialed in my zero.
I made notes, the difference from 50 to 100 so I could keep my 50 zero and then 100 and then 200 in the same manner.
So If I'm on the bullseye at 25y I'll be two inches low at 100 yards?I've found that starting at 25 is less (shorter) walking and you can generally see the holes . Have it 2" high at 25 and you should be close to bull at 100 depending on ammo type and barrel lengths to name but a few variants .
Zero for 50m, then up 60-65 clicks and I'm on the paper at 100. This is for target shooting. I'd never hunt with a 22 at 100m.How or what is the recommended way to zero at 100 yards considering the effect of the elements being a major factor compared to a 50 yard
