While a few 30 cal rifles are shot at the 1K in Burns, 6mm's and 6.5mm's dominate the field.
I shoot 3 chamberings [different classes] 260AI, 6.5x55AI and 6BR
the 6x47L & 6.5x47L are popular, the 243 Winchester has a few adherents.
7mag is used by a couple, and there are couple of 300 Win Mags and a 308 Norma that show up occasionally.
I am thinking about building another 6mm to shoot the long 115 grain VLD's
Winning groups are usually in the 4"-7" range, but smaller groups show up from time to time.

The shoot in burns lake this year is the last weekend in may 26 & 27. The friday 25 is sight in and registration day
I was thinking a 6 dasher in my Fclass rifle for BR would be a good choice. I'll have to see what the weights classes are in long range BR. I think my Savage 12 currently weighs around 22lbs more or less which is I believe the limit for Fclass. Still want a 30 cal just because I don't have one.
30-06 is an old school target [sleeper] cartridge!
Easy to load for, easy on the pocket book and superbly accurate. It will deliver the mail out to 1000yds with ease!

30-06 eh...Which would have more recoil with all other things being equal? The 30-06 or 300 WSM?
