1000 YARD BLING guns

on 6mmbrdotcom they have some Big Boomers articles in the gun or the week number 57

they are all aluminum stocks, weigh 40 pounds and over and shoot out to 1000 yards, I just bought a all aluminum stock. will put a BAT 6DASHER on it in a barrel block sometime this year.

then there is a new article out with a ransom mega rest on the same site, a one or 3 piece rest for 1300 beans, it weighs 83 pounds,

does anyone else shoot these things in canada, I might go down to miissoula montana for a shoot this summer just to buy a stock or rest.

dont know how to post pics or I would shot you the BLING on baers custom rifles site for the neat rest, no he does not make them but he said maybe next year,

not that expensive, bat M action and 1.450 barrel, 2000 stock 2000 rest (for the one piece expensive ones and a grand for the less expensive 2 piece)


so for 5 grand you got a complete gun and rest without 1000 dollar sightron,

I may only shoot out to 600 yards but it will be really neat,

Couldn't find any places for rests up here so ordered the new Sinclair rest.

The Mega looks awkward some how......

Any rifle weighing 40 plus pounds is a highly specialized, bench rest, rifle. Made to shoot the smallest possible group at a given distance with a particular calibre. Some of 'em look like wee artillery pieces. The bench rest types are an obsessed lot, but they're not to be ridiculed. If it wasn't for them our selection of quality match grade bullets wouldn't be anywhere near what it is now.
Typical 1,000 yard rifles weigh in at around 15 to 18ish pounds. Palma rifles, for example, are 14ish pound, heavy barreled, single shot, .308's. DCRA 'Snipers' can run around 17 lbs. Also heavy barrels.
