Leupold sucks ... Night Force and S&B are the leaders ... Bang for the buck and a good unit Sightron is pretty hard to beat

Do a search , there are about a hundred of these threads

I have a Nightforce 5.5-22x56 and a Sightron 6-24x50 both are excellent.
Nightforce is heavy but built like a tank.
Sightron is a lot lighter and an excellent scope for the money. Probably best bang for the buck.

I have a sightron 8x32x56 and it works fine for me out to 1 km. The mechanicals on these scopes are perfect. The optical quality is decent. A march or nightforce even an expensive leupold may be optically superior but it will not make much difference on your score.

Lol I was wondering the same thing. That's like recommending a Mustang along with F1 cars for someone looking for a new vehicle. Almost like trying not to help haha. OP: budget budget budget, expectations, possible other uses. Intended target size, what kind of accuracy expectations/goals. There's a big difference between banging a gong and printing competitive groups and the ideal or even sufficient optics for each are quite different. A fixed 10x will get you smacking a 15" gong just fine. Repeatable sub moa accuracy would be best done with a little more. Actual magnification is a personal thing but I'll tell you from experience optical quality and solid internals trump magnification and tacticool features. I.e. don't buy what looks coolest and seems to offer the most bells and whistles at the lowest price. The dollar store sells paperweights for a lot less.

Why is nightforce being mentioned with march and other far superior brands?

Without a budget nothing can be suggested.

Competing in LR F class, there is pretty much 3 brands you find on the line - Sightron, NF, and March. A few use S&B's. On a rare occasion, you find other brands like Leupold.

The optical difference between Sightron, NF and March at 1000yds isn't as great as their price suggests. In fact, it is very small. The March is certainly better but not by much.

From my personal experience rating them optically at the same mag ie 40X - MARCH, NF BR and Comp, Sightron SIII, NF NXS

I have not included the S&B 50X scope as I have spent very little time behind it and I didn't play around with the focus. Owners settings could have been different then mine so not conclusive
