Well, the shoot was alot of fun. I was only able to attend Sat. Conditions were cool, slightly overcasted - very comfortable to shoot in (Sunday was wet and very windy).

However, winds were nasty from the get go. Not particularly strong (about 8 to 15mph) but switching constantly and blowing in different directions.

Yes, wind and mirage at the bench going one way, wind at the target going the other, strong updrafts in between. Then everything switching or going dead right now. Fun, fun, fun...

We had 10 (?) shooters with a variety of rigs from a beautiful full meal deal Panda/Stolle in 6.5-284 all the way from Powell River (shot the first and winning group of the day) to some production rifles. Lots of rebarreled commercial jobbies, a couple of tactical rifles and one Enfield P14 heavy weight.

I think there was even representation between the unlimited and hunter class.

I was lucky enough to take the Hunter class with my 7 Mystic shooting a 27- 1X. The next best shooter shot a 27-0X. I am glad we didn't need to go to the group size to break the tie as mine was not that great.

My best group of the day was with my 300RUM/Enfield P14 and dropped three 220gr MK into a tidy 7 5/8" group. The groups was off a bit so the score was low but very happy as it took a bit of driving and 4 shots to get it.

Yes, one bullet blew up on the way out to the target. Wish I saw the PUFF. Fun, fun, fun...

Here are some more results:

Best group (4 7/8") - Ken Jackson of Powell River - Custom Kelby action in 6.5/284

Unlimited Rifle Score (29-0X) - Claus Wagner of Osoyoos - Sako TRG-22 .308 Win

Hunting Rifle Score (27-1X) - Jerry Teo of Summerland - Stevens 200 in 7Mystic.

Standing @ 1000M (10-0X) - Tim Heibert of Osoyoos - Custom Barrelled Tikka in 6.5/284

It is alot of fun and certainly recommend anyone to come on out. This is a very low key event and anything, short of a BMG can be shot. Winds are usually tricky which really levels the playing field.

You will meet some really nice shooters, see some very nice rifles, and some excellent driving. However, you don't need expensive custom rifles to come out. A few relays were won last year by off the rack Savage hunting rifles. This year, some very nice scores were posted by a Carl Gustuv Husky and Sako hunting rifles.

The next shoot should be in Aug so get those scopes shimmed...and bring lots of water, suntan lotion and bug spray.

If you want to see pics, let me know and I will forward an email.
