1000m shooting GTA?

Hey guys,

For a while now I have been trying to find a place to shoot some of my rifles at longer ranges, primarily wishing to try my hand at 600-1000m. At my local gun club I am limited to 100m from what I can find, there isnt much around my area longer range wise. I am wondering if anyone knows of a place in the GTA that offers facilities for this?

I have shot at a vintage match in Borden and had a blast, but the max was 300m which has me interested in pushing my milsurps back even further. Right now I am not looking for any sort of competition etc... just something to give it a try.

Any ideas?

Go back to Borden, get the right range this time. You were probably on Amiens range. Just down the street is Mons Range at 1000 yards.

Look into an O.R.A. membership that'll get you access to Borden when there is O.R.A. days. You can check the schedule on their site as well for an idea of the amount of access you can get.

ORA is your best bet. There are places to shoot 1k on crown land, and I have shot on one of them.

1000 meters is an interesting and difficult challenge.

When you are an ORA member, can you shoot both restricted and non-restricted at borden?

What range distance options do you get access to?

ORA has target rifle, service rifle, CQB, vintage, black powder... you name it.... depending on the range/discipline, you can get all the way out to 1000 yards. The website has all the info you'll need:

Yes there is Restricted and NON restricted firearms out there..... thing is the O.R.A. has to sponsor you for a 2nd ATT for your Restricted as the standard ATT is not legal on govt. land. You will have to apply through the O.R.A. for this
If approved as an O.R.A. member you will end up with 2 Att's one for private ranges one for Military.
