Yup, but only in reduced loads. Many years ago I tried them at higher velocities but can't remember much about them except that they weren't the best accuracy wise. That was out to 100 yards. It's possible that it was just that particular rifle too.
Lately I've been shooting the Speer 100gr Plinkers with the data from the Speer manual using SR 4759. Velocity is in the 1500's. I haven't had a chance to try them yet at any distance, nor am I likely to as I'm shooting with the irons. When I get around to scoping my rifle I'll give them a try further out, but since I intend these to be used for rabbits, vermin and just close range fun shooting, I'm happy to get minute of critter accuracy out as far as my old eyes can see, using the irons, which incidentally is not that far
Here's thirty yards with the above load with irons. Why 30? Because that's how far away I was able to put my target from the truck in the bush that day

Once I get going with my reloading, I want to experiment with OO buckshot in light loads and the 86grain Hornady soft points that Henry sells for 7.62X25 loading. Those should make a sweet plinking load and the OO would be good for ditch chickens while looking for deer. The above load looks nice!
It's lots of fun Back in the late 80's or early 90's I played around with round ball loads in a .30-30. The balls I used were Hornady .32 cal .310 dia with Unique, but I can't remember the charge. My old load book is at a different location right now so I can't look to see what it was.
I do remember that accuracy was extremely good at short range, out to 25 yards or so. The nice thing about these round balls were the ease of loading -I pressed them flush with the case mouth with my thumb.
I lubed them up with Lee Liquid Alox and let them dry before seating them. I don't recall any leading problems but they were fired at very low velocities.

The lightest I have loaded are 125 Gr Speer TNT Grenades with 48gr of H4895. They work really well in my rifle though I have not tried them out past 300m. I often considered trying 110gr or 100gr bullets but have to try it. Keep us posted

I've used 100 gr Speer Plinkers with 46 grs of H335. Very accurate load. Only killed 1 coyote with it. It didn't blow up the hide as much as I thought it would.
I've used 100 gr cast lead bullets with 15 grs IMR 4198. Deadly on groundhogs and porcupines.
