I am looking to zero my VZ 24 at 100m, tho options are pretty slim. Mojo sights won’t ship to Canada. I am looking at maybe changing the front sight blade. Brownells offers a .375 post which would require filling to bring down to the appropriate height or found other posts in the .230+ range. What would be my best option to bring the zero down.

Thanks

Maybe some Swede 96 front blades? I got a +1.5 ( .270 ) on my 762Nato K98 and bought the POI down a bit.

Oh good i did not realize a Canadian store had these i was looking at gun parts co, and for 8$ may as well give it a try. Thanks

No problem. You could probably ask them what the height is. I cannot say a +1.5 will fix yours, but did help my 762 Nato Mauser. Getting the POI down.

Simple enough to calculate how much to change your sight. If you want to hit dead on at 100 yards, but you are 6" high - that is 6" of correction at 3,600". Measure distance from your front sight to your rear sight - let's say 20". The ratio is 6/3600 = X/20. Solve for X. 6x20 = 3600xX 120/3600 = X In this example, it is .033" which is the amount you must increase front sight height, or decrease rear sight height to be dead on at 100 yards.

I thought there was a Canadian distributor for Mojo? I ended up having someone from the U.S ship me a sight for my M48 and then afterwards I stumbled on a post saying there was a Canadian distributor for them. It was an old post though so something might have changed.

Hi Cal Services..

Going to need to remember that for later!

Not sure about VZ 24 but could you not figure out point of aim to adjust? I dont have a VZ but the irons match S&B SPCE 8mm at 100m perfectly with a Yugo k98, yugo m48 and unmarked K98....i bought a bucketload of that ammo with it shooting 1" iron sighted groups or less and matvhed the irons at 100 200 and on the yugoslavian k98 at 300m. Didnt try the other 2 at 300 yet.

Other ammo shoots either high or low by a good deal. Hornady 6 inches low and winchester a remarkable 12invhes low...i never figured out after 20rds where PPU ammo goes at all never hit paper.

The Czech VZ24 as issued to the Czechoslovakian Army and used the 1903 pattern 7.92×57mm Mauser S Patrone (S ball cartridge), and not the heavier 7.92×57mm Mauser s.S. Patrone used by the Germans.

From; The Bren Gun Saga by Dugelby, T. B.

The Czechoslovakian Army also used the ZB vz. 26 light machine gun which used the 1903 pattern 7.92×57mm Mauser S Patrone (S ball cartridge)

The ZB vz. 30 LMG was developed for export and to use the 7.92×57mm Mauser s.S. Patrone used by the Germans.

If you can locate an old version of Small Arms of the World: a basic manual of small arms
By W. H. B. Smith, Edward Clinton Ezell

It has the trajectory tables for both the S Patrone and the s.S. Patrone which may help you.

s. and s.S. Patrone tables from the internet;
