I couldn't believe it. This is a 4 shot group at 100yds with Hornady 17 grain V-Max.

This is the only 100yrd group I shot all day. I left the range right after as I wanted to pay hommage to this cluster. :D

The top left, there is actually 2 almost in the same hole!!!

I have never shot a group this tight at 100 yards.

You coulda said 5 shots and I wouldv' believed you ;)

Just kiddin - Some absolutely fantastic shooting :) Always fun to have groups like that and for me its always exciting to rush down to the other end of your range and see how good it really is

Again, great shooting !

I believe it.My HM2 shoots crazy tight groups and my brothers HMR posts groups like yours (Savage 93R17 SS)

Great caliber those .17`s !!

Nice shooting. I remember reading on Rimfire Central that guys were drilling holes through dimes with the 17hmr. I never tried it with mine though.

I love mny 17 hmr savage 93 in ss, but it isn't that accurate. I get groups like that with 50 yards tops never 100. Way to go. Plus your rifle is a keeper allright.

Thanks everyone. Looking back I should have thrown that 5th round into the chamber.:)
I think it's a keep too. I can't wait until gopher season.

I will probably go and shoot some more tomorrow so I will post a few 5 shot groups :D

Looks like the .17 HMR suits you well. Congrats! :)

Very nice shooting! The HMR can be accurate if you feed them what they like. My CZ 452 American 17HMR likes the Hornady 20 gr XTP loading, and will shoot 5-shot groups like that at 100 quite often. the 17 grain pills will only shoot about 1¼" at 100. Regards, Eagleye

unless you were aiming at the center of that square, they are all misses.

When shooting for ammo testing/groups it doesn't matter. You find what shoots best then sight in for it afterwards.

Also I count 5 rounds in that group not 4.

Trust me, it is only 4. That's all my magazine holds. I think the paper riped in a funny way making it look like there were 5.

See the dark edge of the four real bullet holes, made by the powder fouling
scraped by the bullet when it passed trough the barrel? The center "looks
like a bullet hole" doesn't have it...

When shooting from a clean barrel these rings are darker for the second, third,
fourth etc... shoot, the first having no such ring around it.
