102 rifle build cost from stripped upper/ lower

I’m also going to take what I read here on the forum with a grain of salt and a dose of reality.
Gas block: I have around a dozen ARs and not one of them has an adjustable gas block. I don’t see the need as I feed them the ammo they require.
Trigger: probably a run of the mill AR mil-spec trigger. I haven’t seen any close up photos of what they are providing or anyone actually testing the trigger weight, or whether it is a two stage or single stage, so I’ll wait and see what’s in there. Maybe I’ll tidy it up and use as is or switch it out. If I was to carry this in the bush, I’d want it a little on the heavier side around 5-6 lbs anyhow.
Charging handle: I have a few with the standard handle and don’t see this as a big deal, but then I don’t charge the rifle with the blade of my hand, so maybe that’s why it doesn’t bother me.
Handguard: Do we know what is coming with the second batch? I’ve read that it is different than what came on the first pre-order.
If it’s a useable tube, maybe I just chuck it up and shave some mass from the inside. But who knows -I need to compare it against some others I have and see if changing it out is worth the weight savings.
Dust cover: I’ve read that some are fine and others not so much. I’ll pass judgement when I see it.
Barrel: we’ve heard from guys shooting 3 moa ammo saying it is crap? Again, I know what I can do, and I know what my ammo can do. I can compare this rifle directly against my MWS and my M-110.
Muzzle brake: seems to work as intended. I guess I don’t place much value on having the latest and greatest. My biggest concern is if it affects accuracy.
Bolt carrier group: unless it’s broken and not doing its job, I’ll probably be ok with it as is. Tooling marks on the bolt carrier? I think this is a red herring, imho.
The stock charging handle has very sharp edges, too sharp. I dont know who (or why) ther 'redesigned' it vice a normal mil handle. The person who designed the stock one probably wears chainmail gloves when he shoots!
The hand guard question? Really? How can you state "We don't know... second batch." with many examples and pictures here? Have you not read and seen the other threads with pictures and with them removed/weighted/etc? Thread

i had my gen 2 out for the first time. put 100 rounds +/- through it and was a blast. accuarcy wasnt there though. sprayed 150g American Eagle like buck shot and couldnt group 175g Federal GMM better than 2 moa. Picked up some168 g smks so curious if guys getting close to moa have a load they can share.
cosmetically my rifle looks great aside from the dust cover. while annoying not a big deal. the machining on the gas key looks like sh:t but as long as it functions no big deal.screwing my slr barrel nut on was tough and i suspect the reciever threads are slightly off. geiselle trigger pins wouldnt fit but trigger functioned fine with stock pins.
really excited about this platform soam looking forward to building a long range tig in 6.5 with the receiver sets.
looking into replacement barrel options if i cant find a load the groups decently.

No I don’t think I read that one. If I did I probably glossed over it. I tend to do that if they are loaded with white noise.
By the sounds of it you shaved off around 11 ounces, at a cost of around, what? $300 landed?
Then there is the question of how solid of a platform that SLR handguard is for a sling and perhaps bipod. How much does it flex under load? Does it interfere with the gas block or gas tube under load?
Yup but I upgraded to a JP enhanced extractor.and POF roller cam. Actually I think its closer to 275 cdn with those items.
When you say bolt, do you include the whole BCG?
I don't know those yet. I do have a fairly lightweight bipod on it and will test it out in not too long... right off the bat, the place where you attach the rail on the mlok under the SLR is important since if you place the screws too close to the bottom of the gas block, they may touch.
The 102 platform is still to fresh out in the wild to have definite answers on pretty much any reliability/feasibility question though.
You might be better off going with a Modern Hunter...?
Neither is the BCL102, otherwise it would be restricted ;D Personally I would not buy a $1750 rifle and put another $1000-1500 in it to basically replace everything...but to each their own, I'm not judging, you all do whatever you want with your money.
I find it just funny that everyone seems to be #####ing and whining about the gun before receiving or buying it.... personally I decided to wait for BCL to work all the kinks out and the 6.5 to buy one...
