Interested in the weight of this rifle, as well as if there will be other handguard options. Is the barrel stainless? as it looked like it was based on the pic early in the thread. Good work NEA if this rifle is reliable and accurate.

I bought a MV and 6.5 upper for it but if this thing is light enough and can be converted to 6.5 creedmore or .243 win. I might be swayed to go that direction instead.

Your mv is more than likely going to be much lighter just due to it being smaller dimensions. Assuming that Ryan is correct, the 102 should weigh in at around 9lbs.

Ah ok ya 9lbs is bit on the heavy side. Ill stick to the mv. Unless they can make a downsized one of these ;)

they won't be because they were told by the RCMP not to or else...

I hope they will be making some runs with light profile barrels, and a clamshell handguard to keep the weight down for the hunters that want to buy these but are worried about weight.

The MV is more in competition with the ACR, Tavor and XCR-L. This is an AR10!

is there a plan to sell proprietary components? I want another upper I can barrel to something else. 6mm/308 would make for a pretty good all-around rifle.

Is there a butt pad on these? Or is one needed? Can one be added and which would fit? I know it has the brake but that stock looks hard on the shoulder. But I have no experience with an AR10.

I agree. I am sure there are pads out there that will work. A good question for the guys at NEA.

NEA Delta buttstock, not proprietary. I'm guessing this is a standard AR15 buttstock but ? Couldn't find any info on it.

If you keep the break and don't run real hot and heavy loads the weight should soak up a lot of the recoil. I'm basing this off my modern Hunter, I didn't notice the recoil as much until I ditched the brake and switched to a proof barrel, then I bought a Magpul enhanced buttpad immediately after the first Range trip (actually during as I was at a range with an attached gun shop) Just an educated guess, so don't get mad at me if it beats ya up lol. The enhanced buttpad was enough to take the bite off of it.
