1022 tommy gun

There was a guy in Quebec who sold some but think he no longer does. Have a friend that got one and must admit with a little work it made a great gun.

The kits were not cheap but very well done. The seller was the maker and his work was fanatastic.

I think my friend once thought of selling it, wanted around a grand for it.

As far as I know, the seller was NOT the maker.

They were designed/built by CGN member Mr AR15,
a very capable guy and nice to talk to.
I really really really wonder wtf happened that killed this product,
because there was quite a lot of request.
The look of the final product was more realistic than the US counterpart.
They were sold by Fabsports, as said above.

The first Gen had issues, the newer ones run a lot better, but often will contact the bolt & cause resistance & malfunctions. Put some black marker on the top of the feed lips, run the bolt a few times & remove some material if you see any contact. That should fix your problems.

My drum had a lot of problems at first. It is running better now but still not close to running 50 rds without problems. My drum seems to seat a little lower than stock mag, or drum spring isn't pushing round up enough. I get a lot of FTF actually bending the bullet that hasn't been pushed up to chamber. It works better if loaded 20-30 rounds.

Thanks

Thanks turnip (simko)! I understand he is not actually asking 1000.00 but was trying to get a clarification if it was the tommy gun kit that people are seeing as so valued.

I agree, mr. Ar15's work is much better than the brownell's 10/22 and looks very nice.

That said, with the proper equipment and some knowledge, a person could spend a lifetime retrofitting 10 22's. Personnally, I think the mods are great. It allows you to spice up a gun for specific look and not bust the bank shooting it. Not to mention the prohib/restrict rules.

$1000.00??? For the 10/22 Thompson conversion?

Well price a 10/22 $240.00, and I think the kit was $690.00 plus taxes and shippping and it got expensive. This price did not include the barrel.

I think the seller had 7 kits and the guy I know bought two and they cost him $1,200.00 and although beautifully done they were too expensive.

The quality of the kit was superb, and he sold one and has kept the other.

You used your stock barrel and my friend bought a Dlask barrel adding more to the build.

Took about 5 hours to build including workiing the barrel on a lathe. Lots of work needed to be done on the wood.

He told me at a grand you made no profit.

Do the math. 240.00 + 600.00 + 140 = $ 980.00.

I will try to get the guy to send me a picture to show how beautiful the end result is.

Expensive compared to other kits on the market but considering they are made by a one man band, fairly priced. If you consider the price of the US made Thompson and the difference in quality and appearance, mr ar15's seem pretty much in line as his look a lot better.
