10ga recoil -- 10 gauge.

My long time shooting buddy also had a 10ga SxS and on occassion we'd head down river in a canoe to the tidal flats where we had our blind set-up. On the way down stream, there was a section of the river we called "Mallard Alley". On one trip down the to the "flats" while coasting through the "alley", a couple of Mallards came winging through. My buddy, from a kneeling position, lifted his big 10 and the 1st barrel was a missfire. Loads, 2 1/4oz handloads. By the time he pulled the 2nd trigger, the gun was at about a 45 degree angle and that's when both barrels let loose. The result, one bloody nose, shooter kicked out of the canoe and one submerged shotgun. Ahhhh, my early day introduction to Duck hunting on the west coast:D.
