10mm 1911 or 1911 variants (bren ten etc.)

Give me light & fast over heavy & slow any day.

Light and fast got the 9MM out of favor with most police forces etc. The weight of the bullet makes a big difference in the amount of damage it will do. Cops hate it when they shoot someone only to have him shoot them back. They want the perp to go down and stay down. For shooting holes in paper it makes little difference.

I have never read a gun magazine. I have read Cooper on handguns, Taffin on six guns and have three Sweeney books on 1911 and gun smithing. And of course many internet stories. I have no life!

Why buy a 10mm??

Why NOT?

Its this same nonsense there trying to use to ban "military type firearms" . Who needs to own a "Semi automatic assault type rifle " or who needs to own a long range "precision" rifle , or who needs to own a 50 caliber rifle . Or the liberals biggest arguement "who needs to own a handgun at all in Canada" we dont have CCW and target shooting isnt an acceptable sport in their eyes.

We own them because We CAN . i really wish people would stop using this statement .

I have an Armco converted STI Ranger II in 10mm and let me tell you it's a really fun handgun!!!!
I've had a couple of Glock 20s, but they're nowhere near the fun of the 1911 in a 10mm, not to mention the feel of a 1911 alone vs. the Glock. In all reality, the Glock is a great combat handgun, but no one here does any combat outside of their bedroom mirror anyhow.

Reloading is a must. I had a few boxes of factory Norma 200gr 10mm, those really have lots of snap. 200gr. @ 1200fps., but the other factory 10mm from Rem,etc. is pretty anemic.

Talk to Gunnar, he'll set one up for you so it runs like a Swiss watch, mine sure does. :)
