Anyone here have any experience? similar ballistics to a 357 magnum and there are many people using the 357 stateside for deer, bear and hogs.

What are your thoughts?

Thinking about the Non Restricted Thereon defence carbine for 100yd use or less.

Yes, will work no problem on light skinned animals. You will likely need to handload as the ammo up here in Canada is anemic, at best.

I've personally seen Glock 20's used to great effect on Javelinas in AZ.

The winchester silver tips are about as good as we get for factory I would guess and that is what I would use. 1300fps and 650ftlbs

That velocity is also going to increase in a 18.5" barrel

That would work fine IMO.

No 10mm st around these parts. Just federal AE and some hornady.

Now cor-bon, buffalo bore would be so nice to see up here. Even at a premium price, I would pay..

Apparently, this is being worked on. I'm not sure if both are coming but one of them is in the works.

Probably work just fine but some Provinces have minimum empty case length requirements and I don't think it would make those.
I am in BC, no restriction like that, however the provincial hunting regs state that any firearm with a barrel length under 12" is considered a handgun, something I found interesting.

Not a very scientific contribution but I saw a guy on Alaskan State Troopers drop two moose in his laneway with a 10mm Glock.

I have an 18" 10mm T/C Contender carbine barrel 135gr Nosler HP's with my top 800X loads do 2250fps.

Plan on calling in a few coyotes and a cougar if one came in that is if I ever find the time to get out.

I've chronographed that load and Winchester is rather optimistic about it! Out of a 5" Colt Delta Elite and a 5" Kimber Stainless Target II and it's averaging 1146fps. When the snow melts I'll run it thru my new Tanfoglio Match and see what it does for the heck of it. Good ammo but not loaded anywhere near what Winchester claims. The Hornady load with the 180gr HP XTP is right on the money though!
