Mentioned in another thread I loaded a bunch of 155gr XTP for my Colt Delta Elite in 10mm. Running at 12.5gr of Blue Dot. Works awesome, I'm thinking this is as hot as I would go with these but I am a bit of a chicken. (Sorry for weird video angle and strange hand thing I'm doing haha, target is from 7 yards)

What do you 10mm pro's think? I'm looking to be on the hotter end, with good performance, the weak 10mm store bought stuff doesn't do it for me.

And the ammo....

Those are some perty looking rounds, bud.

I have a bit of a preference for heavy bullets with hotter loads in my Delta. I'm running 200gr FMJTC over 7.4 grains of Power Pistol. It's loud, angry looking yet manageable. My "Mild" load is 5.4 grains of Universal with the same bullet, and I might bump that up a touch to see what happens.

I have a couple of bags of 180 grain Winchester JHPs, as well as some 180 and 200 Hornady XTPs that I still want to play with, if I ever get around to ordering some more brass and powder instead of ordering more stuff for my Blackbird.

Thanks haha, no I just have to learn how to shoot!

I enjoy the light rounds that are moving fast, plus the Dillon is dialled in so I'll propably stock up with these for a few years!

Trust me... those heavy hitters are smokin' fast.

And you picked the wrong caliber to learn on... I made the same mistake. :d I'm actually planning on picking up a .22LR in the near future (just have to decide if a pistol, or new motorcycle PPE is higher priority) so I can get back to basics :p

Haha, I think everyone NEEDS one!

And Grizz I'm with you on that, I'll be buried with my Delta Elite or the son gets it and if he ever sells it I'll haunt him from the grave.

Can't go wrong with a Delta Elite. Mine is my NEVER EVER EVER NO MATTER WHAT THE OFFER sell gun.

My 10mm plinking powders are #7/#9/Blue Dot if you want top 10mm performance you will need to get your hands onto some IMR800X...

You will need to weigh out each load individually for consistency but when you let these loads loose you will finally know what a 10mm can really do and why I can unequivocally call it the most powerful standard production semi-auto rounds in existence.

I've been loading 10mm since spring of 1988 was there when all of the load developement was being done by Mike McNett oh yeah there is nothing like a properly loaded 10mm.

While I haven't chrony'd my 12.5gr Blue dot 155gr rounds yet, Lets just say they are 1400+FPS, how much more would a guy really get with 800X?

What would be the benefits?

Its a simple fact Blue Dot can't touch 800X

Benefits = plinking nothing getting the most out of the 10mm and not just dreaming you are = everything

What kind of velocity does 800X have over Blue Dot in a 155gr? I might have to try some.

I just don't really get what your saying, is it fast? More accurate? Bigger fire ball?

It moves bullets faster than any other powder available.

Check out Glock Talk 10mm Reloading forum you can find my velocities for a 5" - 6" - 18" barrels in a sticky there.

Don't get me wrong Blue Dot is good one of the best and when I want to load a lot of fast 10mm rounds quickly it is my go to powder still have appr 4lbs on the shelf.

It just doesn't give the velocities that 800X can give you.

135gr Nosler HP = 2350fps in my 18" barrel with 800X.

Cool, I'll have to do some reading on that!

Might not be worth it for me though if I can't safely build em on the 650 XL

I carried my Colt Delta Elite and Glock 20 on my ATC until I got into the 45 Colt/454 Casull handguns and the RCMP started squawking about not letting me have a semi-auto on my permit.

I loaded the hottest heavy 10mm loads you could safely put together.

I now have 4 semi-auto handguns all in 10mm I also have an 18" T/C Contender carbine barrel.

My G29 is a super cool little hand cannon and my latest Kimber Stainless Target 11 is the coolest.

Hey CC, how does the Kimber Stainless Target II shoot, is it the most accurate of the 4 you have? I have been thinking about one for a while.
