S&W is once again making their Model 610 in two sizes - 4" (not for us!!) and 6 1/2". Besides the obvious use as an IPSC revolver using .40 S&W ammo, this one seems to be just the ticket for wilderness carry for those who don't want to shoot a .44 Magnum with factory loads (and who don't load their own). The hot 200 grain 10mm's are OK for bears - I teach and certify people for Wilderness Protection carry -and have a lot less recoil than a hot 240 grain .44M...
I have a couple right now and will take one and trick it out with fiber optic sight, action job (of course), etc. and come back with a range report
