10mm all the way
Well....
The 10mm is flatter shooting, potentially more powerful, has a higher BC, can be LESS expensive to reload ( particularily once you have the brass).
I have set up my Delta and a S/A 40 with both 10mm and 40 barrels.
I shoot factory loaded 40 ammo when it pops up at deal prices and or when I am too lazy/busy to reload.
I use the 10mm brass/barrel when I want/need the power/range/sizzle and just plain COOL factor.
I have plenty of 45's past and present.
The 10 and or 40 is superior other than outright bullseye accuracy and nostalgia. I enjoy shooting milspec 45's for what they are, particularily my original WW guns that have been in combat.
As far as being pragmatic about the caliber choice and or quibling over what is cheaper??
Pistol shooting in Canada is expensive and a pain in the ass period!
Further, sadly, we can't hunt or do anything with them to "need" power or the application of range/muzzle energy etc.
Buy/Reload/Shoot what makes you smile every time it goes bang!
For me....10MM is plain COOL....Power/muzzle flash/exotic/loud/nasty!
