I dislike large primers. Every time I reload something that tales large primers (in volume) requires me to pull down my press, change from sm to large primer, reassemble and start over. In fact, I dislike LP so much I bought an RCBS Hand priming tool for that sole purpose.

Now to the task at hand. We all know that 10mm could have used small primer. The only reason it does not is because the designers had planned on .40 being small primer and a quick visual way to differentiate between the cases.

I have contacted Starline Brass and this is what they had to say:
There would be a 50,000 piece minimum order and $1,000 tooling charge for a run of small pocket 10mm.

So my question is this. Is there anyone that wants to be a part of this order? Obviously 50k of 10mm brass is more than I can use.

If I can get a few people willing to commit, I would then ask Clay at Prophet River to handle the importation etc.

Let me know :)

Is it ok to use Large Pistol Magnum primers instead of just regular large pistol primers for 10mm? Just curious as I may be buying a 10mm in the near future.

Thank you for the initiative and effort to research an alternative but I will pass. I just cope as you do and since I also shoot 40 cal the visual difference is of value to me.

It would be cheaper to buy a second press.

Dont waste your time, also would a small primer ignite the larger amount of powder ? My average 10mm load is minimum 9 grns powder

Not worth the hassle

275 per 1000, dont think anyone would tie up 13,750 for something that may or may not work.

There would not be an issue igniting the powder. Considering my 204Ruger uses 24.8gn of H322 in a similar sized case and works quite well.

I load 17 different handgun calibers, changing the primer tube in a Dillon takes 5 minutes, nothing to get bent out of shape over IMHO
