Trim a coil or two off the bottom of the mag springs. Works just fine.

The problem with that is that then the mag can end up not having enough retention of the round below the one being stripped off to load. And that can lead to the second round down creeping ahead. Been there and done this with a CZ mag. It caused enough troubles in my case that I replaced the mag spring with a new stock one.

I had the same issue with my M&P 40. I left the mags stacked to full capacity for the first few weeks and the springs have softened up enough to load normally
