I understand the possibility of gas buildup under the rail if I have ports exposed under the rail but if I purchase a lengthy break could I side step the problem by moving my ports to the outside of the break?
Or would a 12" CHF HB be a better barrel for the MFR.

heard some people crack their handguard by their muzzle brake when they hide in it their hand guards. but i guess depends on the quality of the rail and if it has a really thin wall. but i think most brakes are inch and a half+ or so in length and should clear the rail. you do lost about an inch of barrel from the barrel extension and threads tho. take that in consideration when you do measuring.

If the vents on your brake extends beyond the handguard, should be ok. How much ahead of the handguard, I'll let the pros answer that...

this was a S&J 14.5 inch barrel stuffed in a longer rail... I added ATRS Eliminator....

Looks pimp....

Gas buildup under your rail is one way of putting it.
I would just go with a barrel that's at least 1/2 inch longer than the rail.

^^ person who installed that brake was a idiot for doing so ie installed so all the vents were inside the handguard. Sometimes you just can't buy common sense...

Or you could just use the barrel you have and opt for a linear comp as a muzzle device, or something along the lines of a Noveske KX3/5 as in the pics above.

Nice rifles, guys...

the handguard has closed ports in the warsport rail. i guess its part of the system to use the gas to bring down the muzzle.
