Hey guys, this is my first started thread in the hunting and sporting shotguns section and I am pretty sure this is the place to ask the question. I have an old Remmy 11-87, it is my grandpa's but he can't shoot anymore because of a skiing accident he had a little while back, so I am going to sell it for him and get him some cash to set up a website for his bird and duck wood carvings. Anyways the bloody thing won't eject. I put three rounds through it this morning to see if I had fixed it (I have limited gunsmithing experience, and when I say limited I really mean none) and I guess I didn't fix it.

A round pops back and looks like it is ready to go up, but the bolt just doesn't go back. I dunno, help would be appreciated.

Could be a number of things but many times it is because the gun needs to be taken apart and really cleaned well, especially if it hasn't been done properly in awhile. Probably the gas sealing oring also needs replacing. These guns also have a spring inside the stock that probably should be taken out and cleaned as well. I'll bet after it is cleaned properly and the oring replaced, it will function again. It is known that these Remingtons had to be cleaned well and fairly often.

I'm guessing the o-ring is likely broken. Without it, your semi becomes a single-shot. PM me your address and I will send you one.

OP said it won't eject but is releasing a round from the mag tube. It sounds like it is "short stroking" and that leads me too believe it could very well be an o-ring problem or even partially clogged gas ports if the gun has been used lots.
