11-87 Sporting Clay

I am looking at buying a Remington 11-87 Sporting Clay shotgun. It has a 2 3/4 28-inch barrel and has Sporting Clay stamped on the receiver.

1. Could I put a 3-inch slug barrel safely on this gun and use it for deer hunting?

2. Will the current barrel accept 2 3/4 heavy load for geese hunting or should I stick with standard target loads and use this gun solely for clay shooting?

3. Can I put any 11-87 barrel on this receiver?

I have one of these guns and from what I was lead to believe you could put what ever 11-87 barrel on you want. The sporting clays barrel lacks the buffering of the other barrels which is why you are restricted to light target loads. Like I said that is what I believe but I could be right out to lunch.
