Oooo..Can't wait!! Only 11 more fricking days!! Any other Manitobans getting ready??

I still get a little pissed that I have to pay $150.00 for a non-resident license and a resident is only $33.00. But you have to pay to play :)

And the fact that I spent the first 18 years of my life there doesn't seem to matter.

I'm looking forward to going too. Been out once with my muzzleloader, never seen anything worth shooting, holding out for a buck. I have a new rifle to use for the general season(Remington 742 in 30-06)

Yeah, I can't wait either. I'm heading out next week for the last 4 days of muzzle and will then hunt a few days of rifle around home.
I'm looking more forward to next week and muzzle though. It's our annual getaway. I love hunting that last week of muzzleloader season. There are way fewer guys out and the bucks are just starting to get moving.

Kenco,Where in Manitoba are you'se hunting? We used to hunt down by Souris River. We camped just outside Phearson Manitoba.I still dream of going back there some day.It was a long run from Wawa Ontario but worth every kilometre :D :D :D

i got the whole week off, and after 2 years of nothimng i feel that the third time is the charm!! i'll be on family land out near Treherne for part of it, might try the sandliands or interlake if nothing shows it self the first couple days. was driving home from south of morris last night, a large 8 pointer, two does and a small six pointer crossed the road right infront of me, almost filled my tag. hope to see more like them in 8 days

Hey rebel,
I hunt / from the Roblin area. My parents live on Lake of the Praries and we own land in the valley and on top...Prime Deer. As well we travel north near Duck Mountain PP and hunt there. Sometime we go south near the dam, but I don't think we are doing that this year.

We usually hunt for the meat so we take whatever crosses our path being a doe or buck, But this year I'm going to try and hold off and get a nice big buck (if I see one). I might be singing a differnt tune when the end of my hunt comes up and I still haven't shot anything...

Can't wait...only 7 more DAYS!!!

Ken.

Kenco, I envy you being able to hunt the Assiniboine River Valley. I had a hunting buddy that has since moved to Thompson. He always talked about sitting the hills and watching the big ones from atop. Magnum power he said was nice because of the long shots.

I have been out Muzzleloader last week and it is now my favorite hunting season. Never saw anything big. The nice thing about it is the area that I hunt is about a township with no other muzzle hunters but myself and my buddy.
