I would like to have some opinions about the ammo I made for my antique french 1873 pistol before I try to shoot it.I started with 44-40 brass.Trimmed the length to .730" and thinned the rim to .040" and .491" diameter.I used .451/.452" 200gr swc bullets and machined a .120" heel on it to a .432" diameter.I put 2.8gr of trailboss in and pressed the bullet in until it butted against the ridge at the end of the heel.Assuming the revolver in in sound mechanical condition should this ammo be reasonably safe to shoot?
